About Us
Kathy de Clutter is a small, home business established to clear out years of accumulated stuff. The hope is to find new owners that can use and enjoy the items we no longer need or can store in our home. Some of these items may need to be pried out of Kathy's hands, but this is a necessary step towards simplifying and lightening the load at home. What isn't sold online at Kathy de Clutter will have to be relocated ... either to the dump or to the local charity.
Where did this clutter come from? It's been accumulating for years. Kathy is not adverse to decluttering. She just hasn't tackled decluttering her books and similar resources. Some of these have been with her since childhood. Some are from finds at used bookstores or discount warehouses. Some she needed, wanted, searched for, and used in homeschooling her children. Some have been used as resources for learning more about computers or gardening or decorating, etc. Some are the result of finding an author she liked reading and having to read the rest of the author's works. And some were given to her. Once a person gets a reputation as a book lover, others find an easy solution for gift giving. Whatever the reason, Kathy's house has an overabundance mostly of books that need new homes.
The process of sorting and posting items online is actually a fun and interesting one. Kathy is discovering old friends in books read years ago and is even making the time to reread some of these books one more time before they go on their happy way to a new owner. But the purpose here is not to bring reading enjoyment to Kathy, but to get her to lighten the load at home and to find people that can enjoy the books and other items weighing down Kathy's house. We hope you enjoy shopping Kathy's clutter.
